چکیده

This paper analyses the diagnostic utility of interleukins (1, 4, 6) and lipid metabolism products (cholesterol, triacylglycerols, lipoprotein fractions) in subclinical ketosis cows. It was found that serum levels proinflammatory (IL-1 IL-6) anti-inflammatory (IL-4) cows with did not differ from those clinically healthy animals. therefore indicates absence inflammation form ketosis. These data were also confirmed by normal α1- α2-globulin levels. IL-6 is known to increase synthesis acute phase inflammatory proteins. There no significant difference IL-4 content between experimental control groups In cows, abnormalities detected hypertriglyceridaemia hyperlipoproteinaemia very low-density lipoproteins, an a decrease high-density lipoproteins. verified similar changes β-lipoprotein fractions specific first stage lipomobilisation syndrome.

Serum antioxidant capacity of dairy cows with subclinical ketosis.

Ketosis is a common metabolic disorder frequently observed in dairy cows during the early lactation period. The objective of this study was to examine the changes in β-hydroxybutyrate (BHBA), glucose, non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA), glutathion peroxidase (GSH-Px), superoxide dismutase (SOD), xanthine oxidase (XOD), malonaldehyde, catalase and total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) concentrations...

Effects of Inhibiting Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP4) in Cows with Subclinical Ketosis

The inhibition of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) via specific inhibitors is known to result in improved glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity and decreased accumulation of hepatic fat in type II diabetic human patients. The metabolic situation of dairy cows can easily be compared to the status of human diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver. For both, insulin sensitivity is reduced, while he...

Evaluation and use of three cowside tests for detection of subclinical ketosis in early postpartum cows.

The objective was to evaluate the performance of 3 cowside diagnostic tests for detection of subclinical ketosis, defined as a serum beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHBA) concentration >or=1400 micromol/L. On 16 d over a 5-mo period, samples of serum, milk, and urine were collected on a large dairy facility from cows of all parities between 2 and 15 DIM. The sample proportion of subclinical ketosis was 7...

Feeding a higher forage diet prepartum decreases incidences of subclinical ketosis in transition dairy cows.

A common feeding practice during the dry period is to switch dairy cows to an energy-dense diet 3 wk prepartum, but this practice may lead to the overconsumption of energy and increase the risk of metabolic disease postpartum. The aim of this trial was to compare the metabolic status of transition Holstein dairy cows fed a 77% forage diet (77F; NEl = 1.46 Mcal/kg; NDF = 41%) vs. those fed an 87...
